Zones

if you wish to apply shipping costs to the products you sell in Prestashop, you need Zones.  Zones are used to apply shipping charges and/or taxes to the final sale total for each and every order your store receives.

Zones are not pre-defined geographical locations however, but rather a group of user-defined locations- which can contain any combination of states and/or countries that you have defined to work from your actual shipping (home) location.

To create a Zone within Prestashop, you need to:

 1. Go to Back Office >> Shipping >> Zones.

zones

2. Click New.

zones add new

3. Type the name of the Zone into the name field. (Use logical naming, if you have one shipping cost for Europe, call this zone Europe for example)
4. Select whether or not to apply shipping charges to this Zone. (When you select disallow, then for customers who's location is in that Zone, they will not be charged any shipping costs above the product price)
5. Click Save
6. Continue to do this for each zone you wish to add.

Tip: If customers that live in a country or state that you have not assigned to a Zone, Prestashop will not be able to calcuate a cost and thus no shipping costs will be charged.

How does Taxes apply to Zones?

Once you have created your Zones, you can set which zones taxes will apply to. Go to backOffice>>Payment>>Taxes. For each tax you create, simply choose the Zone or States that this tax should apply to
