Before you contact me regarding the Prestashop guides on this website, can I ask that you read the following information please;
Firstly can I thank everyone for the 100's of emails I receive telling me how useful you have found them. Its good to know they still serve a useful purpose and I am greatful for all your great comments.
I also get asked "will I continue to update these guides as its been a while since they were last updated".
The honest answer is that I stopped work in Prestashop probably about a year ago now. At the time I was unable to get the response I needed from Prestashop and as my plan was to use Prestatshop in Commercial projects I could not be confident about installing the software to my customers without knowing there was direct support (paid commercial support) available from the authors in the event of issues. As there were quite a few bugs at the time I also needed to be clear about the service I could expect. Following no response to several emails I decided to stop working on Prestashop at the time.
However it's been a long time now since I experienced my own issues. I am sure it's all changed and anyway, just because I needed a guaranteed response and high level commercial support service it's wrong to assume everyone else would. There are a lot of people using Prestashop now (over 37,000) and an active forum so everything seems to be going well for Prestatshop and I do wish them well. Don't get me wrong, I am not being nagative towards Presatshop, just explaining the decision I reached in the past for myself.
So why are my guides still showing here?
I had planned to turn these guides of months ago and the only reason I have not is because Prestashop still seems to have limited documentation and people keep saying "please leave the site up". I am aware that as each month that goes by these guides do get more out of date, but someone really needs to get hold of Prestatshop documentation and produce what users need. These guides will go soon (By July/August 2010) so please help yourself to anything you want on my Prestatshop guides - they are free and without any restrictions from me. And if you know of any website with good Prestatshop documentation do let me know and maybe I will add a link
So to everyone that has emailed me, I thank you. For everyone that never got a response to an email I appologise, I just got too many messages to response to everyone.
